Audit log
The audit log is append-only. Decisions, door changes, agreed-round changes and other events are written with who and when. Nothing in it is edited or deleted from the application. Data export includes it.
This is the record you hand to a client when the question is who approved, and when. A new decision can be recorded; the earlier one stays.
Webhooks fire on decisions with a delivery log, so another system can react and you can see whether it received the event. The public API and webhooks are on the Business plan.
Questions that keep coming up
- Can an admin edit a log line?
- Not from the application. The log is append-only.
- Does export include the log?
- Yes. Data export includes it. A CSV import brings work items in the other way, after a dry run you have to read; the log itself is never imported, because it records what actually happened.
- Is the log the same as a comment thread?
- No. Comments are conversation. The log is the legal-shaped record of what changed.
