Gate stage
A gate stage holds the work until a condition is true. The scheduled stage in the campaign pack will not move to live until the publish date is reached, so a card cannot be dragged live early.
Gate is one of the five stage types, beside work, review, approval and done. The social content batch pack uses the same type as scheduled to publish.
A gate is not an approval. Nobody presses a button to satisfy it; a field such as publish date becoming true does. Approvals and gates often sit next to each other: first the decision, then the date.
Preguntas frecuentes
- Is a gate the same as an approval?
- No. An approval waits for a person. A gate waits for a condition, such as a date being reached.
- Can I skip a gate by dragging the card?
- Not on the built-in packs that condition the transition. The engine checks the condition before it allows the move.
- Which packs use a gate?
- Campaign uses scheduled. Social content batch uses scheduled to publish. Other packs can add one.
