Asking the assistant a question
The assistant opens as a side panel over whatever screen you are on: select Assistant in the header, or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and choose Ask the assistant. Ask in your own words; it can search and, when your role allows it, create a task, but it cannot decide an approval or apply an AI proposal for you.
Tasked öffnenOpen the panel
The assistant has two ways in, and both open the same side panel. A role with no AI permission sees neither; the header button is also hidden on a phone, where there is no Ctrl+K, so Ask the assistant in the command palette is the only way in.
- Select Assistant in the header, next to search.
- Or press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) and choose Ask the assistant.
What it can and cannot do
The assistant answers in your own words: it can search across the organization, and if your role allows it, create a task directly from the conversation. It acts under your own permissions and nothing more: a role that cannot create a task will not get one from the assistant either.
Deciding an approval, and approving or rejecting an AI proposal, both stay separate actions of their own; the assistant does not do them for you.
Keep the conversation going
The conversation stays open for as long as the panel is, so you can keep asking without starting over.
- Type your question in Message.
- Select Send.
- Keep asking; the panel remembers the conversation until you close it.
Häufige Fragen
- Can the assistant decide an approval or apply an AI proposal for me?
- No. Deciding an approval, and approving or rejecting a proposal, both stay a separate click of their own. The assistant can search and, if you may, create a task.
- Can I open the assistant on a phone?
- Yes, just not with Ctrl+K. On a phone, reach it through Ask the assistant in the command palette.
- Does every role see the assistant button?
- No. A role with no AI permission sees no button for it at all, neither in the header nor in the command palette.
