Giving a client portal access

A client enters Tasked through a door issued from their client page or the project's Client tab: a personal link, an entry code, or a one-time code, with no password. In the portal, clients see only shared files, choose between approve and request changes with a result screen, and upload files.

Avaa Tasked

Open one door

The Client links panel sits on the client's page, and only a role with portal management permission (an OWNER or an ADMIN) sees it. In addition, the Client tab on any project lets you issue a project link on request. The code or address shown once the door is created appears exactly once: the server keeps only a hash of it, and no screen returns it a second time.

  1. Open the client from Clients (or the Client tab inside the project).
  2. Under Client links, fill in What to call this link.
  3. Choose How they get in: Entry code, Personal link, Email verification or SMS verification.
  4. Turn on what this link may do: View, Comment, Approve, Upload or Download.
  5. Select Create link.
  6. Copy the code and the address before you leave the panel. This is the only time they are shown.

What the client sees and decides in the portal

The client portal lists only files shared with the 'Shared with client' switch. For each review item, clients have two decisions: Approve or Request changes. Choosing either displays a result screen with confirmation and a button to return to the portal.

Requesting changes reaches the studio immediately as a change request and notifies the people assigned to the task (or the project creator and owners). If upload permission was granted, clients can also upload files directly in the portal.

Choose what it reaches and how long it lasts

Any door can be scoped to one of the client's projects instead of all of them. The default expiry is 30 days; set a different number, or leave Expires in days empty for a link with no expiry date.

  • Project: any project of this client, or one project only.
  • Expires in days: empty means a link with no expiry date.
  • Device limit: how many devices may use this door at once.
  • Require a one-time code: an extra code by email or SMS on top of the link itself.
  • Send the link now: turn it off to leave the door open without sending anything, for a studio that would rather hand it over itself.

See what the client did, and turn a door off

What clients have seen shows, per door, when it was first opened, its last activity, how many distinct devices used it and how many approvals were recorded through it.

  1. If you want, narrow the table with Filter by project.
  2. Find the door under Turn a link off.
  3. Select Turn off.

Usein esiin nousevat kysymykset

Does the client need an account to get in?
No. Entry is with no account and no password, through a code, a link, or a one-time code sent to them.
What happens when a client selects 'Request changes' in the portal?
They see a result screen, and the request reaches the studio as a change request, immediately notifying the task assignees or project owners.
What can a client with a view-only door do?
Only what the switches you turned on allow. A new door is born view-only unless you also turn on Comment, Approve, Upload or Download.
