Review stage
A review stage is an internal look before the work is shown to the client or the next gate. It does not open an approval on entry. A path labelled changes requested typically returns the item to the work stage that produced it.
Code review in the software pack, rough cut review in commercial, and internal review in the design request pack are all review stages. They are for people inside the workspace.
When the outside person must decide, that is an approval stage, not a review stage. Mixing the two is how a studio accidentally sends a cut the director has not seen.
